Forests, faith and friendships are a few of the things you'll find at Camp Indian Sands. Committed to creating a place for youth to encounter authentic Christian community, we strive to work with all students regardless of race, culture, economic or denominational background. Located in Marquette County*, Wisconsin, CIS is far enough that you can really get away from it all during a week at summer camp and close enough to escape for a weekend retreat. With over 900 feet of shoreline on Tuttle Lake the camp provides a great place for swimming, canoeing and evening campfires at the beach. The open fields are a perfect place to run and play in the outdoors while the shade trees provide a great place to sit and relax. Come and see how our 50 acre site is ready to connect your kids to creation. *CIS is one hour due north of Madison, WI, and about two hours northwest of Milwaukee. |

We are in the midst of raising funds at camp to remodel bunkhouses 3 and 4. Our goal is to raise $15,000 in order to create a better living environment for campers in 2010. The plan calls for new windows, doors, exterior siding and a new roof. For pictures of what you can expect please read the article on our 2009 bunkhouse renovation project. As of 2/22 we have raised $2,800 towards our goal. If you would like to help us in this endeavor, we have a simple donation thermometer in the upper right hand section of this page. Simply click the donation button to make a gift to this important project. Bunkhouses 3 and 4 sleep 30 campers during each session of camp. That represents about 40% of our capacity each week. This housing unit is incredibly important because it gives us a good, safe place to continue our work of connecting children to creation, Christ and community. Your gift is greatly appreciated. |

Living Water is the summer theme for 2010. Each day campers will look at both the spiritual and physical importance of water in our lives. In order to prepare those daily studies we are working with the Corner House at UW-Milwaukee. On Tuesday nights, beginning February 2nd, college students involved in the ministry at the Corner House will gather for Bible study. From those discussions we will create a curriculum to be used by summer camp counselors. The night begins with a meal at 5:00 followed by the group discussion from 6:00 - 7:00. |

Camp Indian Sands was recently featured in the ELCA's "Stories of Faith in Action" magazine. You can check out the article on CIS right here - or - you can download the entire publication right here. Counselor Kate Brenner was able to capture our mission statement with her camera as she took the cover photo of a CIS camper connecting with creation. |
