What are "Blocks"? As you'll notice, Saturday is broken into several blocks of time. Our summer staff are prepared to program the morning sessions for all children and youth. We will work in conjunction with your group leaders to program the adult sessions for Saturday morning. Adult options include service projects around camp, quiet time of reflection, taking the pontoon out on the lake, an adult Bible study from our "Jesus Is..." summer program, or heading offsite for a round of golf or hitting the Princeton Flea Market. On Saturday afternoon, we have any number of family activiites available. From nature hikes to Frisbee golf, a bike around the lake or a paddle on the lake, this time is for families to be active together. Our staff are available to help with any of these options, and suggest a few others. The Evening Block is dedicated to an All Camp Activity. Last year we played Camp Indian Sands Olympics in honor of the Games in Beijing. What are some Free Time options? We are happy to coordinate a group outing for free time or we can help to arrange for smaller group options. Previous groups have used Saturday afternoon for a canoe trip down the Mecan River (trip lengths can range from 1.5 hours to a full day), boating on the lake, swimming, sailing, fishing, basketball, volleyball, nature hikes or just reading a good book down at the beach. What can we expect from the children's programming? Our staff: Our summer staff are young Christian men and women who are trained to work with kids. We have a ten day training period before our first groups arrive. All of our staff have had a thorough background check before working with us. Our program: In 2009 our theme is "Jesus Is...". We'll be looking at the identity of Jesus through the "I am" statements found in the book of John. This is the material we'll use during our chapel, devotions, and Bible study time. As for other children's activities we use Saturday morning for a nature hike, a craft project and (depending upon the ages of campers) some group games. For older youth (middle school and senior high) we'll check with you about getting them out on the sailboat or paddling around the lake. Who takes care of meals? During the summer months we have a fully staffed kitchen that provides three meals a day. The food is good, hot, and there's plenty of it! Who takes care of worship and campfires? We'll work with your group leadership for these events. We have staff who are prepared to lead songs around the campfire and a time ofworship, yet we know many groups have their own worship teams and pastors who have special services in mind. How do we book a weekend? Please contact us for available dates in 2010.
